I spent the first 25 years of my career as a creative director and copywriter in the advertising industry. I worked with agencies that included Chiat/Day, Deutsch, Ogilvy & Mather, DDB, FCB, McCann-Erickson, J Walter Thompson and many others. My clients included GTE, Apple Computer, American Express, Nissan, DirecTV, Wells Fargo Bank, Honda and many others. I was successful, won awards, sold and produced lots of work. As a result was promoted into my first leadership position at age 27. Over the course of my career, I was repeatedly promoted or hired into roles of increasing authority and responsibility.
As I worked with people in leadership in hundreds of companies, I started to pay attention. I noticed the tremendous and detailed impact that leadership had on the work and lives of everyone the organization touched. I noticed how brilliant, talented people got in each others' way as well as their own and their organization's way on a daily basis.
I became aware of how much of the potential for a business depends upon its leaders—what they believe is possible for their organization, their skill in communicating their vision, their ability to inspire, the people they choose to surround themselves with and how they see these people. I came to believe that many of the challenges that businesses face could be resolved, and that businesses could move to new levels of success through wise and intentional development of their leadership.
In 2005, I left a Creative Director position in an advertising agency to study with experts in business, coaching, and leadership. My vision: to support those brilliant, talented visionaries who just need a few tools or a little perspective to crack the code that leads to wild success.
I have been fortunate to work with amazing people in amazing companies, including Dreamworks SKG, Hewlett Packard, Spot Runner, The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, CB Richard Ellis Investors, The Jewish Federation and many others.
I am obsessed with creating programs that help people to see new possibilities, develop and grow, and reach new levels of effectiveness.
